GAE dates

I just noticed I have a few 1/10 oz GAE's that have roman numeral dates.
They're so tiny I cannot make them out, though I probably will when using magnification.
Are these legit?
All other GAE's have standard numbers dates.
Thanks for any info.

Gold eagles with dates 1991 and earlier have roman numeral dates.

I wish the mint would continue the roman numeral dating. I have a 1/4 oz GAE from '86 and it is my fav since it is my only one dated that way. I believe the 2009 St. Gaudens will be dated with the roman numerals.
